General Information
- Weave Description
-
Inner step grain connecting an outer mirror twist grain. Dragonrope Step can be seen as an Inner/Outer version of "Step Three Quarter Persian - Mirror Twist" As this weave is chiral, the placement of the second (and additional step rings) decides which "version" you end up with. The base version (top chain in render) can be done in a lower AR than the chiral version. This is due to the additional room allowed by being closer to the flared edge of the mirror twist grain. In the chiral version, the step rings are closer to the tapered edge of the mirror twist grain.
Nomenclature note: Dragonrope is a hybrid name combining dragon from Dragon Tail (the root of Inner/Outer chains) and rope from Full Persian Elven Rope (a common way of referring to mirror twist grain).
Structural note: The two grain version of this weave (Outer twist / Inner Step) is unstable and devolves into a band of European 4 in 1 Thrice.
