General Information
- Weave Description
-
Spiral 4 in 1 is two 2 in 1 chains where one chain is rotated 45 degrees from the other, offset and interwoven around the eyes of its counterpart. Spiral 4 in 1 has 2 forms, spiral and counterspiral. The difference between the two forms is which direction the second chain is rotated before being offset and interwoven. In Spiral, the chain is rotated +45 degrees, in Counterspiral it is rotated -45 degrees.
The name Spiral 4 in 1 itself is a bit of a misnomer as this weave only spirals as a result of the interaction between the two interwoven 2 in 1 chains. As this weave is not actually made with spiral grains, it will unwind unless stabilized in another manner. This is most easily accomplished by connecting it to itself while wound.
