B2g variations

Hi I tried out B2g weave using 1.2x6 and 1.2x10 mm copper rings and found that it looks nice only in the picture - it was quite loose and did not hold the form.
So, I started to modify it and came to the three modified elements:

2024-11-10-20-05-01-638.jpg

the first uses different ring sizes for internal and external locking rings (1.2x4 and 1.2x5 mm respectively), the second is the first plus 1.2x6 mm rings as in the original B2g element, the third is "kinged" version of the original B2g element with two additional large rings on top and beneath the four 1.2x6 mm rings.
Using these elements I created example bands and sheets. I do not know whether they are still B2g or some different weave. The weave as such is quite simple, but some different approach from original B2g is needed if the rings will be welded.
Would be interesting to hear you comments.

Did you try it with the ARs recommended on chainmailbasket.com? I know that on MAIL two ARs are used, however on cmb 3 ARs are used. Personally, I find the ARs on cmb to be much more accurate. I also really need to add more units to the Maillepedia :D

I do not know whether they are still B2g or some different weave.
At a quick glance, because I'm about to go to bed ;), most look they are what I would consider modifications and/or dilations of the original unit, but I would have to research further. I'll get back to you with the "in depth" dissection, lol.

The precise ARs used were 4.8 and 8.1 (rings are not cut, but "dremmeled", so the circumference is by 0.8 mm shorter, it relates to all rings used)

Just found - to some extent my creations resemble Moon and OS4 units on CMB.
