AR confusion

I am having a hard time using aspect ratio to build my weaves. I buy mostly from B3 and use alot of their tutorials and the book Chained so it's easy to know what size ring I need because everything is written in their system of letter and number. I've bought a couple of different books looking to branch out and when I got the rings they claim are needed the weave doesn't seem right, either too loose or too tight. Can anyone point me to a good resource about aspect ratio, as I'm guessing I must be making a mistake somewhere.

Also, make sure you are using either SWG or AWG wire gauge sizes depending on the tutorial you are using.

I have an app on my iphone called, iChainMaille by www.touchquick.com it is handy to calculate AR using lots of different variables as well as having a weave section which will give you AR and help you pick wire sizing.
