The unit that has the ring going through it almost looks like the start of a persphone unit? Is this what is getting squashed and then orbitted?
The main difference is in how they're connected to each other.
Persephone is a tethered expansion of half byzantine fire segments (although in Persephone, the tether rings are not stacked).
Byzantine (Fire) is an extension of Byzantine Fire Cells
