Hello there,
I am an avid Mailler.
I have been doing this for 25 years, I started as my younger brothers helper, rolling rings and cutting them for him.

He started teaching me the basics and since then the rest is history.
I was put in touch with TRL as a supplier for my rings, then I found Metaldesignz on a trip with my family to Saskatchewan Canada and bought a pattern that day and have since bought more patterns from their website.

I live in Alberta Canada and am married with many kids (8). It's a blended family and is amazing.
My kids have all expressed an interest for the art of mailed, so I have taught them some basics.

Hi to everyone!
My name is Dan, I’m from Taiwan!
I've been mailling for 8 years!
It all began when I first discovered my passion for crafting with silver. The moment I held a piece of raw metal in my hands, I knew I had found my calling. The intricate process of transforming a simple material into a beautiful piece of art has been both challenging and rewarding. Each project has taught me something new, whether it be a technique, a design principle, or even a lesson in patience and perseverance.

Over the years, I have honed my skills through countless hours of practice, experimentation, and learning from both successes and failures. From mastering the basics of soldering and polishing to exploring more advanced techniques , every step has contributed to my growth as a silversmith.

Hi everyone, I'm Aidan, and I live in Georgia, USA. I started back in 2010 or so, making my own armor inspired by LOTR. My high school obsession ended up getting me accepted to SCAD, which I attended for a year before realizing it wasn't where I needed to be.

I ended up finding rock climbing in 2016, and constantly sore hands from that soon forced a mailling hiatus until now. Having recently built an armor stand so I could properly display one of my old hauberks, seeing that daily has rekindled the old excitement, so it's time to pick up the old pliers again!

Hello - Tamar in the Chicago area here. Learned my first chainmaille weaves from the wonderful Rebeca Mojica and her crew at Blue Buddha Boutique back in their Chicago days. Looking forward to exploring this community.

[probably should have added that I sometimes share pics of my handiwork as magpieandthorn]

Hello everyone! 👋🏼

I’m Liz, and I live in Puerto Rico. Always been interested in medieval and fantasy stuff, but somehow never stumbled into the chain mail YouTube rabbit hole until late last year.

After a few months of thinking it over and realizing this hyper fixation prob won’t be going away any time soon I’ve started getting supplies and rings to work on a few things and see how it all goes.

Excited to learn more, and happy to have found this place. 🫶🏼

Hey all! New to mailing, decided to jump into the deep end the past few days (never even watched videos or anything to start, just decided I wanted to). Currently working on a Japanese 6 in 1 (learned what that was while browsing this forum lol), 16AWG with 3/16 and 1/8 ID rings that I'm hand turning. Excited to be here!

Hello! I'm new to chainmail and found this website while searching up some info. So far I've only made a bracelet and some pendants and I'm waiting for a (huge) order of rings to come in the mail. I already know I love this craft so I'm diving in headfirst haha
I can't wait to see what I learn!!

Greetings Traveller,

Phoenix here. First the personal and then the polish. I got put on 'admin leave' from work some time back and took up chainmaille as a hobby while I wait to return. I've not been mailing long but have many hours a day to dedicate. Playing has led me to find that I like copper, bones and natural elements in my maille. I also intend to muck around with casting, once I can. I've recently 'perfected' (whatever that means?) hammered copper runes and I'm now working on salt water etching and learning 3/4 Persian to wrap some of those old coins I hoard.

I am a maker who works in metal and myth. My craft begins where history and imagination meet: in the ancient art of maille, once forged for protection, now re-imagined as adornment and story. Every ring I close, every weave I shape, is part of a lineage stretching back to Celtic, Norse, and gothic traditions, carried forward into new forms. And yes, I can trace both roots in my lineage.

Working in copper, stainless steel and anodized aluminium, I build chains that echo both armour and ornament. Some works stand as bold declarations, pieces that feel like relics of warriors or phoenix-fire reborn. Others are smaller tokens—runes struck in copper, scales joined in memory, fragments meant to be carried daily, close to the skin.

I draw from my heritage—English, Irish, Norse—and from the land I now call home in British Columbia. The mountains, rivers, and forests here speak of endurance and transformation, just as the metals themselves do when they are shaped, tempered, and polished by hand.

My practice is equal parts precision and experimentation. I might weave Byzantine or Helm patterns, cast bronze, and work with sand and flame, always seeking the point where utility meets beauty, where strength meets grace. What was once armour becomes ornament; what was once hidden in myth becomes tangible in metal.

I work under the name Chains of the Phoenix. The phoenix speaks to destruction and renewal, to carrying fire forward, to transformation without forgetting the ash. My jewellery is not simply decoration—it is a fragment of story, forged for those who choose to wear their history, their resilience, and their myth as part of themselves. Hi, I'm Sarah, and I'm in sunny ol' England, UK. I'm almost 44, but mentally 21, physically 91 lol. I am new to chainmail, but have made other jewellery in the past. I'm married with 4 adult kids (well the last is 18 soon). I am disabled from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus and Fibro, so get stuck indoors a lot. I do a lot of crafts and creating, and most of the time I was knitting and crocheting. Although since picking up the pliers and jump rings a couple of months ago, my fiber projects are currently gathering dust now 😂. I will be incorporating both soon as I have several ideas drawn up which is why I started on my chainmail journey to begin with. Admittedly I'm also lonely sometimes, so always open to make new friends online, especially with similar interests.

Hello all! I recently discovered (/re-discovered) the art of chainmaille and am delighted to have found this site - what a great resource!

You can call me Boston. I'm from the United States, New England more specifically. I have AuDHD - I love crafts of all kinds (mostly fiber arts, but other crafts too!) to keep my hands and mind busy during 12 hour shifts at work (I work in healthcare, non-direct patient care). I love to read (mostly fantasy or fantasy-adjacent) and play video games (my current obsession is Cult of the Lamb); I also love watching video essays on any number of niche and random topics. Looking forward to exploring this wonderful art!
