I'm still a bit of a newbie in chainmaille - I've made jewellery and crafted for too long to remember, but only found chainmaille in the last year. Since then it has totally taken over all other forms of crafting (although I do still do other stuff too). I'm based in the UK (London) and there are some great maillers her in the UK that I've getting inspiration from but I like to see what trends are in other parts of the world and how they can inspire me even more.

I sell all my work for charity, so anything that I can do to diversify what I can sell to bring in more interest is great - more sales mean that my charity can help more people - and I have fun whilst raising funds too :)

Hi there! I'm Megan, and I've been doing chainmaille for about four years now. I have a still-small business selling what I make called Irodama Chainmaille & Bead Jewelry (http://irodama.net) and I do a few conventions right now as well as sell online. Chainmaille isn't too big in my area so I seem to be somewhat of a niche artist right now. I'm gearing up to do a convention right now but wanted to get some time to post and get active. I'm also on Facebook and post in a couple of the maille groups on occasion. :)

I'm inspired by all the lovely things I see everyone make.

Hello there! I am Nina, and I am from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Possibly the first and the only one in my country that is doing chainmaille. I am an architect professionally, and in free time: costumes enthusiast, painter, sometimes hair and make up artist. I have been lurking on chainmaille groups and forums for about one year, and started actually doing it two months ago. Love it!

Hi my name is Cheryl. I tried to upload a picture but it says that I don't have permission to do so, so I can't. I have been crafting for most of my life. I have been making jewelry now for about 4 years but only been chainmailling for about 1 year. I started out with a captured bead bracelet. I totally enjoyed making it so for about 3 weeks did nothing but...all different metals, beads and closures. Then I moved on to Japanese 12-2. That completely hooked me. I loved it. I joined a chain maille group and then it bloomed from there. I love learning new weaves and trying to create new things. I live in Pennsylvania.

Hi, my name is Camilla and I've been mailling for four years.
Occasionally I sell a bracelet or a pair of earrings to friends, but mostly I make loads of stuff for myself. ;)

Hi. My name is Laura and I began making beaded jewelry with my daughter. I discovered Chain Maille jewelry 2 years ago. I started with the 2+2 weave, followed up with the box and helm weaves and I was hooked. With so many weaves to learn, I try to learn something new each week. I have started designing my own pendants and necklaces. Maybe my own tutorial can be shared here someday.

Hi!

I'm Jennifer. I'm in Knoxville, TN although I am originally from the small town in NC that Andy Griffin used as the basis of Mayberry, NC. I moved to Tennessee to be with my husband after we met online through a message board -- introducing myself here has given me the warm fuzzies :)

I first got into chainmaille because I wanted a chunky Byzantine bracelet but couldn't afford the price. I thought it looked like something I could do. This was before I had resources such as the Internet or tutorials in books and magazines. I found some rings in Walmart and took a stab. It was awful...but I kept trying. Eventually I learned about AR and quality materials...and was hooked.

I'm Lynanne, and I live in Cottage Country in Ontario Canada. I got into chainmailling a few years ago from a book. I wanted to start to make my own earrings as I have metal sensitivities and I bought a book about making jewellery. In this book I found a section on how to make chainmaille jewellery and I tried it, and have been hooked ever since.

lake158 :) I'm in Barrie; we have quite an active chain maille group here, as we're lucky enough to have Michelle Brennan of Hyperlynks and Mhai o Mhai near. Good to "meet" you!

Hi y’all – I’m Rick, originally from Louisiana, spent many years in Alaska, but now live in beautiful Idaho.

I got into maille because my wife, Kathleen, got into maille. I gave her several kits she wanted for Christmas (about 10 years ago!) and she was hooked! Later, her supplier at the time needed someone to cut and coil rings for her for a few months and asked me if I’d like to do it. With my electrical and maintenance engineering experience from 20+ years in the oilfields, it was a no-brainer.

To make a long story short, she decided to get out of the business and ‘we’ became ChainWeavers in 2009. With my technical experience and Kathleen’s artistic eye and love of chainmaille, we’ve built ChainWeavers into one of the top precious metal jumpring suppliers. I’ve built several saws and developed tumbling/polishing methods which deliver the kind of rings that Kathleen and our customers demand.

Hi, I think I first got into maille because I'm a bit of an Anglophile. My husband is from here and we were living in the UK but not long after in 2006 we went back to the States and I was able to take a class at a bead shop in Vegas and the rest is history. I also enjoy other types of jewellery making but I always come back to maille. I really am so happy I found this group and the FB group as they are both so helpful. My husband and I are currently living with his mother who has dementia but we are hoping to move back to the States soon.

Someone wants to be like ME when they grown up? Well then, let's start with some dyed hair and a tasteful face tattoo and you'll be well on your way! ;)
Yes, and Vanessa, it's going to be difficult to be a keeper of all that AWESOME but I'm willing.

Hello!

I stumbled about chain maille about four years ago, when I was researching some new beaded bracelets. Since then I haven't looked back! I really love making cuffs and bracelets the best, and dabble with earrings and necklaces. Thanks for reading! :)

Hello, my name is Kathy. I AM a chainmaille addict. I have been an addict for a few years now. I started doing Maille as a diet plan. I figured if I had pliers in my hands, I couldn't have snacks in them. Lol well, it worked long enough to turn me into an addict. Unfortunately, the diet plan didn't pan out as well as I had hoped. I work mainly with aluminum, as I have arthritis in both hands. I have done some jewelry in stainless, but I can't do much at once. I just recently started selling my jewelry in an art gallery where it is doing relatively well. My biggest fear is that my arthritis robs me of my ability to continue with my addiction. I look forward to being a member and reaping the benefits of being so.

Hey Jen. I am 58 years old and dye my hair dark purple. Too afraid to bleach and dye for fear of my hair falling out. Lol Love yours, btw. As for the facial tattoo, some day I may have someone connect the age spots and see what I end up with. Chain On!

Hi Everyone.....I've been making maille for almost 3 years and love it! I was looking for something to do for Christmas gifts in 2011 and happened upon a book of weaves - Classic Chain Mail Jewelry by Sue Ripsch - and was hooked. I am 52, live north of Pittsburgh, PA with my husband, 2 golden retrievers, a cat and numerous fish. After 26 years in the hotel industry I needed a break from the long grueling hours. I now work for Fetch! and take care of other folks dogs, cats, reptiles, rodents and horses as my day job. I love the flexibility it gives me to attend more arts/crafts shows and learn more weaves.
I started with junk rings from the craft store (who hasn't) and after 2 years of aluminum I have started working more and more with stainless steel and niobium.
As soon as I figure out how to load up a pic of myself I will do that :)
We have two things in common. Chainmaille and petsitting. I have owned and operated a pet sitting business for 15 years.
